Jonathan Nichols D.O
Osteopath
Education
Graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1987 with a professional Diploma in Osteopathy, winning the 1987 Academic Prize for Neurology.
Work Experience
On graduating he accepted a position as an associate with a busy rural Osteopathic Clinic in Hereford, where he worked for four years gaining much valuable experience treating patients from much more physically demanding occupations (farming, military personnel etc.) than those encountered during his clinical training at the British School’s Outpatient Clinic in Central London.
In 1989 he started his own private practice in Clifton, Bristol, and fairly quickly followed this in 1991 by establishing a second practice in Chepstow, Monmouthshire.
Jon has also worked in the remedial dance injuries clinic of the Arts Education School, London and as Osteopath to the ‘Bristol Old Vic’ theatre company as well as providing specialist sports injury support for many local Sports Clubs and high-level athletes.
Personal Interests & background
With over 30 years experience Jon practices traditional ‘structural’ osteopathy, treating people of all ages, shapes and sizes for the widest possible range of conditions - with particular interests in both sports and performing arts related injuries.
He tries to maintain his own fitness by regularly running, cycling, swimming and chasing his two young children round the park.
A keen sailor, Jon has competed in offshore events such as ‘The Fastnet’ and has completed an Atlantic crossing to the Caribbean. More recently he has taken his family on a round trip to Portugal crossing the Bay of Biscay twice (without mutiny!)
He is also a keen musician – playing the Violin and Viola in various local orchestras and groups.
